Samantha Jo Berry, CJE
Director of Education
CADY Studios

Samantha discovered her love for journalism by watching the evening news and “20/20” with her parents. She spent 12 years in the classroom as a journalism instructor and publications adviser where she coached and advised students to create award-winning yearbooks, magazines, photos and more. She is a former Teacher of the Year, TAJE Pathfinder, JEA Rising Star and Edith Fox King Award recipient. Her students won numerous ILPC Star Awards, CSPA Crowns and NSPA Pacemakers as well as many local, state and national individual awards. She is generally over-caffeinated and loves to travel.

Danielle Hunt
Ridge Point High School

Hi! I’m Danielle Hunt and I can’t function without coffee. I am the yearbook adviser at Ridge Point High School and have a background in English and Communication. I also teach Broadcasting and all journalism courses.

Katie Moreno, MJE
Organized Adviser

Katie Moreno (MJE) spent 6 years building an award-winning journalism program and is now an education consultant, as the founder of Organized Adviser. She is passionate about creating highly-interactive and hands-on learning experiences for publication staffs. But when she’s not nerding out over yearbooks, you can find her 50 feet deep scuba diving, collecting pins from every city she visits, or drinking too much iced coffee.

Danielle Bell, CJE
Foster High School

Danielle Bell has been advising publications for 10 years and teaching for 20 years, and it’s basically been a fever dream. As she embarks on her voyage to Colorado and leaves if all behind, she hopes to pass on a few nuggets of wisdom that’s she’s found in the yearbook world to make space in her brain for mountains roads and wide open spaces.

Candice Thomas
Haskett Junior High School

Candice Thomas has been an educator for 15 years, having spent the last five years as a middle school publications adviser. In a matter of four short years, she has led her staff to success, all of her books were chosen to be in Balfour’s Yearbook Yearbook. Her yearbooks have also been chosen as a Balfour sample book for 2019-2022. She has won the TAJE Pathfinder Award and JEA Rising Star Award. Her staffs have received the Pacemaker and Crown Awards and nominations. Graduating from Pepperdine University with a BA in Advertising has given Candice an eye for layout and design. She loves her students and seeing them succeed! She also loves helping others grow their yearbook publications.

Jonah Fisher
Yearbook Photo Mentor

Jonah is a former award-winning yearbook adviser turned photographer and designer. He loves photography—LOVES it—and has been shooting, learning, and teaching for nearly 15 years.
He thinks yerds are pretty awesome people and that strong, storytelling photos are a must for every yearbook. He also knows that advisers wear A LOT of hats, so he created and the Yearbook Photo Mentorship to help train and support them and their student photographers in creating amazing photos.
He adores his wife and four boys, drinks his coffee black, prefers books to movies, and has never met a waterfall he didn’t like.

Katie Merritt, MJE
Darlington School

Katie Merritt, MJE is a former yearbook adviser and scholastic journalism consultant who thinks making yearbooks is the greatest thing ever. When she’s not talking about yearbook, she’s throwing axes competitively or making charcuterie boards for her friends.
